Scope:
Design for upgrade of existing High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) luminaires to energy-efficient smart LED lighting, fitted with smart lighting controllers for the Department of Logistics and Infrastructure (DLI). Integrate and our subconsultant Marvel Engineers and construction partner Top End RACE delivered designs that support DLI’s initiative to improve road safety, reduce power costs, and implement more efficient maintenance processes.
Key Activities:
- Developed lighting designs and design reports for Bagot Rd, McMillans Rd, Stuart Hwy, and Tivendale Rd, including engagement with various stakeholders in the vicinity of the works.
- Prepared schedules for delivery and installation.
- Reviewed the standard DLI procurement documentation and provided recommendations to support implementing more rigorous lighting standards.
- Delivered three design packages for tender and provided responses to various Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Provided technical guidance to help upskill the DLI team in provision of smart lighting.
Outcome:
Delivered three design packages for procurement of construction works, enabling DLI to transition from legacy HPS lighting to smart LED technology across key Darwin corridors, delivering measurable reductions in power consumption and streamlined maintenance workflows while improving road safety outcomes.
